Does it not seem strange in our progressive age to have such a close existence of medical and religious institutions in the same space? If you think about it, both in the hospital and in the church, we follow certain rules: we drink medicines for recovery and put candles, hoping for a cure; we adhere to a certain diet in the ward or fast according to the religious calendar; we talk about diseases at a doctor’s appointment and take communion in front of a clergyman…
In all these cases, we transfer responsibility for our condition to medicine or religion, believing in the power of the red cross of the hospital or the Orthodox cross on the chest.
It turns out that the body and spirit depend on each other from a friend. And their balance is maintained at the expense of true faith in whatever it is.
«Is it absurd or a conscious approach on the way to recovery?»: the question of combining faith and modern medicine remains open.
